Add a Textbox to a Layer

You can use Layers to add comments to Components in the model.
The base Layer only contains the Components.
To add comments, create a new Layer.

To add a textbox

  1. In the Draw Area, select a Component (Species, Reaction, or Compartment).
  2. Do one of the followings:
    • In the Menu, click Component, then Add Text.
    • Right-click on your mouse and select Add Text from the context menu.
  3. Input text dialog appears.
  4. If the base Layer is the only Layer you have, the LayerNameInputDialog will pop up to prompt you to add a new Layer.

  5. Add a comment, then click OK.
  6. In the Draw Area, verify that the Component has a gray square speech bubble with the comment.
  7. Drag the square anywhere to change its position.

To change text font/color

  1. Select a comment textbox.
  2. Do one of the followings:
    • In the Menu, click Component, then Change Color & Shape....
    • Right-click on the comment textbox , select Change Color & Shape....
  3. Change color & shape dialog pops up.
  4. When printing a model, the comment textboxes will be printed as well. If you do not want to have them printed, set Invisible the Layers that contain them.
